Dear UP-STANDers,
If you're reading this, you probably understand the struggle of trying to commute just about anywhere while pregnant or with kids. Well, I applied for an open seat on the MTA's accessibility advisory board (the PAC) last week, making the case for including a Pregnancy and Family Representative at the table. We'd be one of fifteen voices heard, an unprecedented start to making transit more accessible for our New York constituency.
Now we need to push the committee to move forward with selecting a Pregnancy and Family Representative from their pool of applicants! Letters of support often make a difference. They show the support the individual has from the community and others in the industry.
Please consider sending one of these letters to the head of the selection committee or writing your support in electronically.
Thank you!
